Location: Macon, Georgia
Schedule: Week of day shift (7:00a-3:30p) then a week of nights (3:00p-closing*around 11:30-midnight*) and every other weekend.
Position Overview
The Pharmacist is responsible for supporting and advancing the pharmacy’s goals, ensuring safe, accurate, and timely dispensing operations within the pharmacy. This role provides both routine and emergency drug screening, clinical information, prescription processing, and medication dispensing services for a variety of drug distribution systems. Strong management skills, attention to detail, and accuracy are essential to ensure medications reach customers safely and efficiently.
Essential Functions
Oversee daily pharmacy operations, including workflow, production quotas, and deadlines.
Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal pharmacy regulations.
Assist with maintaining compliance with DEA policies and third‑party payer requirements.
Supervise pharmacy production staff, ensuring proper order entry, workflow, pharmacy security, and adherence to delivery schedules.
Verify the accuracy and completeness of all new and refill prescriptions, labels, and orders.
Review and confirm accuracy of all medication packaging and labeling.
Prepare and/or supervise the preparation of sterile IV drug products and solutions.
Assist in ordering, receiving, documenting, and storing controlled substances; support maintenance of the perpetual inventory for Schedule II medications.
Provide coverage during evenings, weekends, holidays, and scheduled on‑call rotations as needed.
Ensure the workflow dashboard is cleared daily.
Maintain compliance with all government regulations, including HIPAA.
Work overtime, holidays, or weekends when required.
Adhere to all departmental policies related to safety, attendance, and dress code.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
