Job Description

Pay: $125,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year

Why This Is a Great Opportunity

  • Join a mission-driven practice where your work genuinely helps families protect themselves during life’s most important and difficult moments.
  • Handle meaningful estate planning, elder law, crisis planning, administration, and related advocacy work instead of being boxed into narrow tasks.
  • Work directly with an experienced founder in a practice devoted to this area of law, with real opportunity to deepen your expertise and grow.
  • Be part of a compassionate, high-touch environment that values empathy, professionalism, and strong client relationships.
  • Step into a role with long-term upside, strong mentorship, and the ability to make a visible impact on both clients and the firm.

Location: Watchung, New Jersey. This is a local-hire opportunity with an on-site ramp-up for the first 90 days, followed by the flexibility to work from home 1 to 2 days per week.

Note: To be considered, candidates must have 3+ years of directly relevant estate planning and elder law experience. We are specifically seeking attorneys with real experience in estate planning and elder care matters, not generalists with only partial overlap from other practice areas. Litigation experience in estate or elder law matters is a strong plus.

About Us

We are a client-centered law firm focused on helping individuals and families plan wisely, protect what matters most, and navigate crisis situations with compassion and strength. Job Description

  • Draft estate planning documents including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, healthcare directives, and related planning instruments
  • Advise clients on estate planning, elder care, asset protection, Medicaid planning, and long-term care considerations
  • Handle estate and trust administration matters and guide fiduciaries through the administration process
  • Support or manage guardianship, probate, and related elder law matters
  • Participate in estate, trust, guardianship, or elder law-related litigation matters when applicable
  • Communicate directly with clients, families, courts, agencies, financial institutions, and other professionals
  • Conduct legal research, draft correspondence and pleadings, and help develop practical solutions for sensitive client issues
  • Supervise and work closely with paralegals and support staff
  • Track billable time accurately and contribute to a high-standard, client-focused practice
  • Build trusted client relationships that generate repeat business and referrals over time

Qualifications

  • J.D. required
  • 3+ years of directly relevant estate planning and elder law experience required
  • Strong experience drafting estate planning documents required
  • Experience with elder care, Medicaid planning, guardianship, probate, or estate administration strongly preferred
  • Litigation experience in estate or elder law matters is a plus
  • Strong writing, client communication, and issue-spotting skills
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage sensitive matters with empathy and professionalism
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office and law firm/case management software

Why You Will Love Working Here

  • Meaningful work that helps people through deeply important family, health, and legacy decisions
  • A focused practice area where you can continue building true subject matter expertise
  • Direct collaboration with an experienced founder and close-knit team
  • A professional but compassionate culture that values both competence and humanity
  • Hybrid flexibility after onboarding, plus room for long-term professional growth
