Family Practice/Internal Medicine Physician MD/DO

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive medical care, including:
• Obtaining appropriate health histories
• Performing physical examinations
• Developing differential diagnoses
• Completing medical work-ups
• Ordering and interpreting laboratory, imaging, and other diagnostic tests
• Prescribing and implementing appropriate treatment plans according to standard medical practice
• Obtain appropriate consultations when clinical issues fall outside scope of practice or expertise.
• Facilitate transfer of care when personal or religious beliefs limit the ability to offer the full range of care options.
• Provide oral and written health education to patients and families; collaborate with clinic staff to ensure appropriate education, follow-up, and continuity of care.
• Maintain productivity standards to ensure fiscal sustainability while delivering high-quality care.
• Respond to messages and review/sign clinical reports (consults, labs, imaging, etc.) in a timely manner.
• Complete accurate, legible, and legally compliant medical documentation daily.
• Submit billing documentation in a timely and accurate manner.
• Participate in continuing medical education (CME) and maintain required licensure and certifications.
• Deliver culturally and linguistically appropriate services to a diverse patient population.

Qualifications

Required:

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
• Unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of California
• Current DEA certificate
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Preferred:

• Several years of experience in an FQHC or community health center setting
• Bilingual or multilingual proficiency in English and Russian, Farsi, Pashto/Pushto, or Spanish

Additional Requirements

• Valid California driver’s license and proof of personal auto insurance if driving during working hours.
• Proof of required immunizations (Hepatitis B, MMR, Varicella, Tetanus), tuberculosis clearance, and COVID-19 vaccination status prior to start date.
• Successful completion of criminal background check and drug screening.
