Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role located in Buffalo, NY. The Finance Manager will oversee all financial aspects of the company's operations, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and compliance. Daily responsibilities include managing accounts payable and receivable, preparing financial statements, analyzing financial data to support decision-making, and ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Collaboration with other teams to support strategic goals and the optimization of financial processes will also be essential to this role.

Key Responsibilities

• Hands-on Accounting & Reporting: Execute monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities. This includes preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statement packages in accordance with U.S. GAAP. Maintain general ledger and oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes.
• Cost Accounting & Operational Finance: Own the plant’s standard cost model, including bill of materials (BOMs), labor standards, and overhead rates. Analyze production variances such as material yield, scrap, and labor efficiency to identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Inventory & Asset Management: Oversee physical inventory counts, research discrepancies, and manage fixed asset depreciation schedules. Ensure internal controls are in place to safeguard company assets.
• Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A): Lead the annual budgeting process and develop periodic forecasts for revenue, volume, and spending. Provide insights to management on the financial viability of new manufacturing technologies or product lines. Monitor and analyze financial results to identify trends and risks in order to provide clear, actionable insights to leadership in order to support informed decision making.
• Cash Flow & Treasury/Investment Management: Monitor cash flow to meet obligations and manage investment strategies. Monitor daily cash flow and accounts payable/receivable cycles.
• Compliance & Risk Management: Work with external partners to prepare tax returns and audit reports, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, accounting standards, tax laws, and internal controls. Develop and augment internal controls as necessary to mitigate financial risk.

Qualifications

• Strong financial management skills, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
• Experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial reporting
• Proficiency in financial software, accounting tools, and Microsoft Excel
• Knowledge of regulatory compliance and tax regulations
• Strong problem-solving, organizational, and analytical skills
• Excellent communication skills, capable of collaborating across teams and presenting financial insights
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (MBA or CPA preferred)
• Previous experience in financial management within the food industry is a plus

Job Type: Full Time, 40hrs/week

Salary Range: $105,000 ~ $135,000 (Actual compensation based on experience, and manufacturing finance background.

Work Location: On-site at 101 Oak St. Buffalo, NY 14203.

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Top Seedz salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance.
