The Director of Catering and Events is responsible for the planning, sales, and execution of all member events, private functions, and club‑sponsored activities. This leadership role plays a vital part in enhancing the overall member experience while balancing service excellence with responsible financial management in a member‑owned environment.

Key Responsibilities
Member Experience & Events
Serve as the primary point of contact for all private and member‑sponsored events, including weddings, banquets, golf tournaments, social functions, and traditional club events.
Guide members through the event planning process from initial inquiry through execution and follow‑up.
Ensure all events align with Club standards, traditions, policies, and values.
Act as on‑site leader for major and high‑profile events, ensuring flawless service and immediate issue resolution.
Sales & Revenue Management
Manage catering and events sales activities in alignment with club financial objectives and member value.
Prepare proposals, menus, pricing, contracts, and event timelines.
Track event revenues, forecasts, and costs; provide reports to the General Manager as requested.
Collaborate with Membership, Golf Operations, and Food & Beverage teams to maximize facility utilization.
Leadership & Team Development
Recruit, train, supervise, and schedule the catering and events team.
Establish service standards and promote a hospitality‑driven, member‑first culture.
Work closely with Food & Beverage leadership to ensure appropriate staffing and service execution.
Financial & Operational Stewardship
Develop and manage departmental budgets, labor controls, and operating expenses.
Collaborate with the Executive Chef on menu development, event offerings, and cost controls.
Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and regulatory standards.
Continuously evaluate processes to improve efficiency while maintaining high service standards.
Club Collaboration
Partner with Golf, Food & Beverage, Membership, and Administrative teams to support club events and traditions.
Interact professionally and discreetly with members, Board leadership, and committees as appropriate.
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, business, or related field, or equivalent experience.
Minimum of 5–10 years of progressive experience in catering, events, or hospitality management.
Demonstrated understanding of private, member‑owned club culture.
Proven leadership, organizational, and financial management skills.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
Preferred
Previous experience in a private golf or country club setting.
Experience with club management, event sales, and POS systems.
CCM, CMP, or other relevant professional certifications.
