Job Description

Job Title: Medical Assistant (CMA)

Experience: Minimum 2 Years

Employment Type: Contract (On-site)

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) with at least 2 years of hands-on clinical experience to support providers in delivering efficient, patient-centered care. The ideal candidate has strong clinical and administrative abilities, works well in a fast-paced environment, and maintains professionalism and accuracy in all patient interactions.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Duties

  • Room patients, obtain and document vital signs (BP, pulse, temp, respirations, SpO₂, height, weight)
  • Prepare patients for examination and assist providers during procedures
  • Administer injections and medications as directed
  • Perform EKGs, specimen collection, and point-of-care testing
  • Conduct phlebotomy and proper specimen handling
  • Clean, sterilize, and prepare exam rooms and instruments
  • Provide patient education and discharge instructions
  • Maintain infection control and safety standards

Administrative Duties

  • Schedule appointments and verify patient information
  • Update EMR/EHR documentation accurately and timely
  • Process referrals, authorizations, and prescription requests
  • Handle patient calls, messages, and follow-ups
  • Maintain medical records confidentiality (HIPAA compliance)

Required Qualifications

  • Certified Medical Assistant ( CMA ) – active certification
  • Completion of Medical Assistant training program / diploma or certificate
  • Minimum 2 years of clinical Medical Assistant experience
  • Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Phlebotomy and EKG experience
  • Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems
  • Strong communication and patient care skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in multi-specialty or high-volume clinic
  • Knowledge of insurance verification and prior authorizations
  • Bilingual (preferred but not required)
