We are partnering with a respected and well-established construction company to identify a detail-oriented and driven Staff Accountant to join their growing team!

This opportunity is ideal for an accounting professional with a strong understanding of GAAP who is looking to further develop their experience within a project-based environment. The role offers hands-on exposure to job costing, WIP reporting, and multi-entity accounting, making it a great fit for someone who enjoys working in a dynamic and operationally focused setting.

The ideal candidate will be analytical, organized, and eager to contribute to the financial success of a growing construction organization. Candidates with backgrounds in construction accounting, public accounting, or general ledger-focused roles are highly encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities of the Staff Accountant:

• Support daily accounting functions across multiple projects and business entities
• Maintain and reconcile the general ledger in accordance with GAAP and company policies
• Prepare journal entries and assist with month-end close activities
• Assist with job costing, WIP schedules, revenue recognition, and project margin analysis
• Monitor project-related financial activity, including costs, billing, and change orders
• Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis efforts
• Assist with audit preparation and financial reporting requirements
• Partner with project managers and leadership to track budgets and job profitability
• Prepare internal financial reports and provide insights to support business decisions

Qualifications of the Staff Accountant:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required
• 3–5+ years of accounting experience; construction or project-based experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of GAAP principles
• Exposure to job costing, WIP reporting, revenue recognition, or multi-entity environments preferred
• Experience with accounting systems or ERP platforms (construction software a plus)
• Strong analytical and reconciliation skills with close attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
