Senior Manager, Regulatory Affairs

A leading, mission-driven food company is seeking a Senior Manager, Regulatory Affairs to lead regulatory strategy across a portfolio of established and emerging dairy brands in the U.S. This is a high-impact leadership role focused on ensuring compliance while proactively shaping regulatory strategy to support innovation and business growth.

About the Role

The Senior Manager, Regulatory Affairs will own and drive U.S. regulatory strategy for a growing dairy portfolio. This individual will ensure compliance with all applicable regulations while embedding regulatory considerations into product development, commercialization, and long-term business strategy.

You will partner cross-functionally with R&D, Quality, Legal, Marketing, and Operations to navigate complex regulatory landscapes and enable innovation in a highly regulated category.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead regulatory strategy and execution for dairy products in the U.S. market
  • Ensure full compliance with all applicable regulations, including FDA, USDA, and dairy-specific requirements
  • Act as the internal expert on dairy regulatory matters, providing guidance to senior leadership and cross-functional teams
  • Partner with product development and innovation teams to integrate regulatory considerations early in the pipeline
  • Interpret evolving regulatory requirements and translate them into actionable business strategies
  • Lead and manage regulatory change initiatives, ensuring seamless implementation across the organization
  • Support risk assessment and mitigation related to labeling, claims, and product formulation
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with regulatory agencies and industry groups as needed
  • Manage and mentor a direct report

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • 6-10 years of experience in regulatory affairs within the food industry
  • Minimum 5 years of direct experience in dairy regulations
  • Deep expertise with FDA and USDA regulatory frameworks
  • Proven track record leading complex regulatory initiatives and change management efforts
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to communicate complex regulatory topics to non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience influencing cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, matrixed environment
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to balance compliance and business objectives
