Job Description

BDI Marine Contractors, LLC is a Florida-based marine and civil construction company specializing in bridge repair, seawalls, sidewalks, roadway construction, and grading projects. Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and reliable  Heavy Equipment Operator to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have experience operating a variety of construction equipment, including excavators, bulldozers, loaders, and backhoes, and will be responsible for supporting marine and civil construction projects across Florida.

Responsibilities

  • Operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently on active job sites.
  • Perform tasks such as grading, trenching, excavating, lifting, and material movement.
  • Conduct pre-shift inspections and routine maintenance on assigned equipment.
  • Follow project plans, blueprints, and directions from superintendents/foremen.
  • Adhere to safety regulations and company policies at all times.
  • Assist crew members with labor duties when equipment operation is not required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of heavy equipment operation experience (marine or civil construction preferred).
  • Ability to operate multiple types of equipment (excavators, loaders, bulldozers, skid steers, etc.).
  • Knowledge of safe operating procedures and OSHA standards.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Must have reliable transportation and valid driver’s license.
  • Must be willing to travel to multiple locations throughout Florida up to 75% of the time.
