Job Description

This is a full-time on-site role in San Francisco for a Founding UX Frontend Engineer at Atomus.

Primary Duties:

As a UX Frontend Engineer at Atomus, you will be responsible for crafting the customer experience from the ground up. You will lead the design and development of intuitive, highly responsive user interfaces for our core products, with the mission to replace manual, high-touch support interactions with seamless, self-serve workflows. You’ll collaborate closely with the Co-Founder and Customer Success teams to deliver a platform that simplifies compliance and

security for our customers.

  • Designing and developing customer-facing frontend applications using modern web technologies (NextJS, TypeScript, Tailwind)
  • Creating scalable, and highly usable UX for complex compliance and cybersecurity workflows
  • Leading the UX strategy and design systems to ensure consistency and quality
  • Working with engineers to bring the complex workflows, dashboards, data to life
  • Building frameworks and tools that allow our customers to self-serve, reducing the need for direct support
  • Translating customer pain points and feedback into intuitive design and product improvements

You’ll be laying the foundation for our frontend systems and processes, owning the full lifecycle of user experience and interface development to ensure customer satisfaction and trust. As our business evolves, customers are getting bigger. These bigger customers interact with the platform a lot more, hence requiring a lot more of a cohesive experience and a completion experience with the deep expertise that we have built in this compliance industry, bringing the expertise right into the platform.

Our stack includes NextJS, TypeScript, Postgres, Azure, Go, and Electron. While frontend experience is key, we value engineers who can adapt quickly and focus on delivering value. We prioritize rapid, continuous shipping with a strong feedback loop from customers.

About You:

  • You have 2+ years of experience building and designing frontend experiences for SaaS or compliance/security platforms
  • Strong proficiency with modern frontend technologies such as NextJS, TypeScript, and component libraries like Tailwind
  • A customer-obsessed mindset and ability to deeply understand user needs and translate them into elegant UX
  • Experience building highly responsive web applications and collaborating with backend teams
  • Strong product sense and a willingness to own UX end-to-end, from discovery to delivery

You might be a good addition if you:

  • Have experience designing complex, self-service workflows that replace manual, high-touch support
  • Have experience building dashboards for stakeholders like Co-Founders, Owners, CEO, COO
  • Are excited by the opportunity to define and lead the frontend and UX strategy at an early-stage company
  • Have previously worked on customer-facing tools in the security, compliance, or infrastructure domains
  • Care deeply about aesthetics, usability, and performance in equal measure
  • Enjoy ambiguity and are motivated to solve problems holistically, from user interviews to shipped features
