Job Description

Position Title: Driver
Reports to: Director of Operations

Pay Rate: $18.00 per hour 


Job Summary:

The MOW driver is an integral part of the Operations team at Meals on Wheels of Central Indiana. This position delivers daily hot and cold routes to clients Monday-Friday 9:00am.-3:00p.m. This position will be responsible for maintaining a high quality of customer service through food delivery services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Delivery:

  • Loads, unloads, transports and delivers hot/cold meals to all clients of Meals on Wheels of Central Indiana programs Monday-Friday(9:00am-2pm) in a safe and timely manner, following all food safety requirements of MOWCI and the State of Indiana.
  • Check email to confirm assignment of routes for the next day and confirm with the Customer Experience that the routes have been received.
  • Access the Mobile Meals app to deliver service to clients. Accurately record the delivery in the app.
  • Notify your Supervisor of any changes(i.e. Car troubles, cancellations, illness etc.)
  • Kind and courteous to all clients.

Operations:

  • Safely operates personal vehicle in accordance with local and state laws. Documents starting and ending hours of each day and information required by the Mobile Meals app.
  • Maintains a good driving record throughout employment, reports any infractions. Employees may be asked to submit to periodic, ongoing screenings.
  • Notifies Client experience of any issue with deliveries, including services not delivered, and/or issues with clients. Logistics should be contacted with any issues about the facilities.
  • Reports all client complaints or safety concerns


Job Qualification: (Knowledge/Skills/Abilities)

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid Driver License, MVR record.
  • Have a valid driver license and clean driving record, which should be maintained throughout employment.
  • Strong decision making and problem-solving skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Pass a criminal background check.
