Job Title: Phlebotomist
Location: Mt. Pleasant, MI-Onsite
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Phlebotomist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for drawing blood samples from patients, ensuring accuracy in specimen collection, and maintaining a high standard of patient care and safety.
Key Responsibilities
Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection on patients of all ages
Properly label and process specimens for laboratory testing
Maintain patient comfort and safety during blood collection procedures
Verify patient identity and ensure accurate documentation
Follow infection control and safety protocols (OSHA standards)
Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area and equipment
Handle and transport specimens according to established procedures
Assist with patient intake and basic administrative tasks as needed
Provide excellent customer service and patient interaction
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED
Completion of an accredited Phlebotomy training program
Minimum 1-5+ year of phlebotomy experience (Required)
Knowledge of venipuncture techniques and specimen handling
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Certifications (Preferred / Required)
Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) – preferred
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification – preferred

Ability to handle difficult draws and anxious patients
Time management and multitasking skills
Work Environment
Hospitals, clinics, diagnostic labs, or outpatient facilities
May require standing for extended periods
Exposure to blood borne pathogens (with proper safety measures)

Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
Pediatric or geriatric phlebotomy experience
Multi-site or mobile phlebotomy experience
